First-Year and Transfer Seminars
Path to success starts here
During the first year, students adjust to a new environment, structures, and expectations of college. Studies show that academic, social, and personal support coordinated and integrated in a student’s experience leads to increased persistence. First-Year and Transfer Students alike benefit from having community support early on in their first term.
Each Seminar will be meeting on Monday, September 25th at a set time and location! For more information:
What Seminars are Offered?
The First-Year Seminar empowers students to participate fully in the opportunities at the University of Oregon and find resources to support a successful educational experience. Students will enhance their ability to study effectively and learn deeply. They will consider how best to spend their time at UO (both inside and outside the classroom) to foster a fulfilling and meaningful life based on their own interests.
The curriculum will cover a wide range of topics including evidence-based strategies for effective learning, engaging with the campus community, and pursuing their long-term goals.
