First-Year Experience (FYE) Community Peer Mentor
The First-Year Experience (FYE) Community Peer Mentor role is a year-long position which offers exceptional undergraduate students the opportunity to be leaders and mentors to First-Year and Transfer-Year students participating in the FYE Community. FYE Community Peer Mentors assist in the development, planning, and instruction of the content within the Canvas Community. FYE Peer Mentors organize educational and social opportunities to better acquaint their students with each other, faculty members, and the University of Oregon. The position of Transfer Peer Mentor requires a UO transfer student. Participation in an FYE during your first year at the University is not required.
First-Year Experience Assistants (FAs)
The FA position offers exceptional undergraduate students the opportunity to be leaders and mentors to first-year students participating in a First-Year Experience (FYE). FAs assist FYE Seminar faculty in the development, planning, and instruction of the course. FAs organize educational and social activities to better acquaint their students with each other, faculty members, and the university. These activities may include library orientation, study groups, lunch with a professor, field trips, and more.
