FIG Assistant: Claire Daley

Hi Everyone! My name is Claire, and I will be the FIG Assistant for Planning for the Planet. I’m going to be a third year student at UO pursuing a BA in Global Studies and PPPM (Planning, Public Policy, and Management), and a minor in Global Service. I was actually a part of this FIG my Freshmen year, and I’m looking forward to being your FA because I enjoyed it so much! I’m passionate about public policy and its impacts on the environment as well as its social implications, so I’m looking forward to being involved in this FIG and meeting you all.

Other than being an FA, I’m on the university rowing team and work at the Duck Nest, the center for student wellbeing on campus. I’m also looking forward to studying abroad in Thailand and Cambodia this summer and learning about nonprofit management in the region, so feel free to ask me any questions if you’re interested in going abroad too or learning about what it’s like! In my free time, I like to spend time outside, go backpacking with friends on the weekends, rock climb at the Rec, or read a good book. I love taking advantage of the beautiful nature Oregon offers, whether it be hiking up Spencer's Butte, visiting the coast, mountain biking, or relaxing outside on a nice day.

I had such a wonderful experience and even met some of my favorite people at UO through the FIG my freshman year and want to help create a wonderful experience for all who register for Planning for the Planet. I look forward to meeting everyone and if you have any questions, feel free to reach out! See you in the Fall!
