Featured FIGs: (Anti)Social Media, Animal Behavior, Carnegie Global Oregon

These three featured FIGS are part of the broader FIG offerings for fall of 2017. To see the full list please visit the Finding the FIG For You page.

Does social media bring us together truly bring us together – or does it push us apart? In what ways has social media complicated our daily lives, even when it has brought positive changes and advantages? This FIG explores these questions and more in search of what it means to be human in an increasingly online age. Through an exploration of media (J201: Media and Society) and art (AAD 250: Art & Human Values), we will think about the future of creativity, humanity, and social interaction in relation to social media.

This FIG is for students interested in animal behavior, especially primates, and includes field trips to see animals behaving. Example trips include the Oregon zoo and the Eugene Raptor Center.

This FIG partners with the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs as we explore human rights in the United States and around the world.
