Featured FIGs: Carnegie Global Oregon, Chemistry in Nature, and Chemistry of Climate Change!

These three featured FIGS are part of the broader FIG offerings for fall of 2016. To see the full list please visit the Finding the FIG For You page.

Carnegie Global Oregon is both a FIG and an Academic Residential Community that lasts throughout Freshman year. It focuses on ethics in international affairs and in everyday circumstances. The Carnegie Global Oregon FIG draws upon sophomores, juniors, and seniors from prior years to create a unique group of highly supportive UO students.

We will explore how chemistry pervades the natural world including biology, geology, and the broader environment.

Climate change: we’ve all heard of it, but what is it, why is it happening and what are the implications for life on Earth? In this FIG we will examine these questions from a scientific perspective and explore what we can do to slow the process of climate change.
