Katya Hokanson is Associate Professor of Russian and Comparative Literature at the University of Oregon, and received her Ph.D. in Slavic Languages and Literatures at Stanford University and her A. B. in Russian from Williams College. She greatly enjoys introducing students to the awesomeness that is Russian literature and, through the College Connections class, helping them adjust to college life and college academics. Her academic work focuses primarily on nineteenth century Russian literature, a subject on which she has published a book, Writing at Russia's Border (University of Toronto Press), and quite a few articles. She is currently writing a second book on Russian women writer-travelers in Central Asia and the Russian Far East. She has served as head of Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies at the University of Oregon. She and her family very much enjoy living in Oregon and also traveling to new places.

FIG Assistant: Addie Lacewell

Hi all! My name is Addie Lacewell and I am a senior majoring in Cinema Studies. I am originally from Chicago, Illinois and found my way to Oregon as an athlete on the Acrobatics and Tumbling team and I am so glad I ended up here in Eugene! In my free time I enjoy watching and analyzing film as well as writing. My favorite movie may be Good Will Hunting, but that changes frequently. If you love movies I am sure we will get along. This will be my second year as an FA. I am beyond excited to get to know each of you as individuals and cannot wait to seewhat we can create together. I see a tremendous amount of value in collaboration and that is what initially drew me into this position as an FA. If you have any questions at all or just want to reach out and get to know each other please do not hesitate to contact me.
