FIG Instructor: Max Foxman

Maxwell Foxman is an Assistant Professor of Media Studies and Game Studies at the University of Oregon's School of Journalism and Communication. Foxman researches how games and play are utilized in serious and non-game situations like journalism, politics, sports and innovation. As a result, he has studied everything from the metaverse and virtual reality to board game design and even games journalism. When not doing research, you'll probably see Max tooling around Eugene on his bike or walking his corgi/pomeranian mix Palmer.

FIG Assistant: Madeleine

Hi, all! I'm Madeleine, a junior majoring in public relations and minoring in game studies. I'm from the Bay Area, but I really really love it here in Oregon (controversial opinion, I like the rain). Like many of y'all, I love video games. My favorite of all time is probably Deltarune, but I'm always open to new recommendations! Other than that, some of my hobbies include playing volleyball, watching movies, and spending quality time with my friends. This is my first year as a FIG assistant, so I'm very excited to meet you all! Feel free to reach out for any reason :)
