Paint Your Heart Out! A Bilingual Art Workshop for All

Join the UO Common Reading Program and TEP to launch next year’s book, Under the Feet of Jesus, by Helena María Viramontes. The event will include presentations by Professors Sarah Wald and David Vázquez, who will offer key contexts for the novel and share their experiences drawing out and preparing students to work with key themes like environmental justice, farm labor, and Chicana feminisms. Participants will receive a copy of the novel and a guide to teaching it developed by Professor Wald and her graduate students, with feedback from faculty experts across the disciplines. Don’t miss this special opportunity to talk with colleagues about how we can teach such a rich work in community with one another.
