FIG Instructor: Louie Bottaro

Louie is the instructor of the First-Year Interior Architecture FIG, and is an Academic Advisor in the College of Design. This will be his 30th fall term working in education since completing his BA in Speech Communication from Willamette University in 1993. Working as an Academic Advisor at Umpqua Community College led to his pursuit of a Masters in Education from Oregon State University. Louie has worked at UO since the summer of 2018, and this fall will teach his 11th, 12th and 13th FIGs at UO.

For his spare time, Louie coaches Pop Warner football, participates in Fantasy Football, city league softball (2023 champs!!!), an occasional pop culture podcast and following his daughter playing varsity soccer, basketball, tennis and throw the javelin. He is really looking forward to his summer trip with his family to Europe this summer with his wife, son (3rd year student at UO) and daughter. Some times he brings his dog Princess Leia to campus as well.

FIG Assistant: Blaine

Hey y’all, my name is Blaine. My pronouns are she/her and I am the FIG assistant for Interior Architecture. I will be a third year IARCH student, and this is my first year as an FA. I love the Interior Architecture program and can’t wait for everyone else to fall in love!

A little bit about me, I am originally from Louisiana but have been living in Oregon for the past seven years. I love the Pacific Northwest and feel I have finally found a place to call my home. In my free time I enjoy making jewelry, going to concerts, and shopping - emphasis on the shopping!

I am so excited to be able to meet everyone and help y’all with the transition into college. This is an exciting time, and you have all chosen an amazing place to spend the next couple of years! Feel free to reach out with any questions, I’m here to help!

FIG Assistant: Aidan

Hi everyone! My name is Aidan (she/her), and I am so excited to meet you all! I'm a third-year Interior Architecture major, also pursuing minors in interdisciplinary cognitive sciences and entrepreneurship. As your FIG assistant for the Interior Architecture FIG, I'm here to help you navigate this adventure at the University of Oregon. Having experienced the challenges of acclimating to U of O before the Interior Architecture FIG existed, I am incredibly grateful that this program is now available to support your transition. Together, we can build a strong community this term, making friendships that will last throughout your years in school and beyond. In my free time, I love line dancing, hiking, camping, paddleboarding, and cooking. I'm always up for a chat, and I love learning about new topics! (I usually come with baked goods too.) I'm originally from Steamboat, Colorado, a cozy ski town in the Rocky Mountains, where I spent most of my time. While Eugene is quite different, I enjoy both, and Eugene has become a new home away from home. Feel free to reach out to me anytime!
