FIG Instructor: Louie Bottaro
Louie is the instructor of Design Your Success, and is an Academic Advisor in the College of Design. This will be his 30th fall term working in education since completing his BA in Speech Communication from Willamette University in 1993. Working as an Academic Advisor at Umpqua Community College led to his pursuit of a Masters in Education from Oregon State University. Louie has worked at UO since the summer of 2018, and this fall will teach his 11th, 12th and 13th FIGs at UO.

For his spare time, Louie coaches Pop Warner football, participates in Fantasy Football, city league softball (2023 champs!!!), an occasional pop culture podcast and following his daughter playing varsity soccer, basketball, tennis and throw the javelin. He is really looking forward to his summer trip with his family to Europe this summer with his wife, son (3rd year student at UO) and daughter. Some times he brings his dog Princess Leia to campus as well.

FIG Assistant: Monty

Hi! My name is Monty, I am a fifth-year Architecture student here, and I am one FA for the Design Your Success FIG. I am originally born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, however I am taking to Oregon very well! Some of my favorite things are late night studio sessions with my friends, listening to music in my backyard with my roommates, and spending time eating at local restaurants with my awesome girlfriend. I spend an insane amount of time thinking about soccer, my British father raised me living and breathing the beautiful game. My favorite tv show of all time is called Psych, I highly recommend it to those who are not familiar. I am so incredibly ready to get to work and make this the best year ever. Let me know if you ever have any questions. 🙂

FIG Assistant: Gaia

Hi! I’m Gaia, an architecture student with a passion for helping the planet and people through my creative pursuits! I grew up in a suburban town in California called San Ramon and I moved for the first time to study architecture here, at UO. In my eyes, architecture is a design driven outlet to help the world one space at a time. I am eager to support you all in your educational journey and help you understand your impact!  Outside of classes, I am a proud member of the Student Sustainability Club at UO. I am passionate for sustainability and intend on pursuing my architecture career focused on adaptive reuse projects. I love crafting, being outdoors, and cooking. I am so excited to be a helping hand to all of you.
