FIG Instructor: Andrew Boehm

My name is Andrew Boehm and I grew up on a farm in Iowa but have lived in Oregon since 2012. Currently I am the Deputy Director of Archaeological Science at the Archaeological Research Division within the Museum of Natural and Cultural History, University of Oregon. I have been at the museum in 2014 as a Research Assistant and in 2016 became a Research Associate after completing my PhD at Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX. I have worked in nearly every western state and every corner of Oregon. My research focuses on investigating how animals and people behaved in the past, particularly animals!

FIG Assistant: Ava

Hello everyone! My name is Ava (she/her) and I’m thrilled to be your FIG Assistant this fall! I am a fourth-year double majoring in psychology and sociology and minoring in criminology, and my plan is to be a forensic social worker focusing on rehabilitation and restorative justice.

In my free time, I love to read, bake, hug my chunky dog, and just hang out with friends and family. A few fun facts about me: I’m originally from Minnesota but moved to Oregon my junior year of high school, my favorite movie is Pride & Prejudice (2005), I love sad books, I studied abroad in London, and I’ve been really into Palaye Royale lately.

I am so excited to meet and work with you all in the fall! Always feel free to reach out about anything! :)
