Cases and Places FIG Instructor and Assistant

Noah Glusman

FIG Instructor: Noah Glusman

Hello! My name is Noah Glusman, and I’ll be leading the seminar for our First Year Interest Group (FIG), Cases and Places. I’m excited to be part of the FIG program, as my own experience as a first-year student in a FIG was a pivotal part of my undergraduate journey at the University of Oregon. Originally from Northern California, I have called Eugene home for over 20 years. I graduated from the University of Oregon with a double major in Political Science and Geography. Later, I returned to UO to pursue a master’s degree in education, focusing on high school social studies. After teaching US History, AP US Government, and World History, I decided to attend law school. My passion for law and education led me to my current role as the Managing Director of the Legal Studies Program at the University of Oregon School of Law. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two daughters, traveling internationally, following English football, participating in trivia nights with friends, and attending live music events of any genre. I look forward to welcoming first-year students to the campus community, helping them navigate college life, and exploring the intersections of law and geography.

FIG Assistant: Lauren

Hey everyone! My name is Lauren and I’m so excited to be your FIG Assistant this term! I was in a FIG during my first year too and absolutely loved it. It really helped me feel connected right away and provided me with some amazing opportunities! I’m a second-year student double majoring in Political Science and Business with a minor in Legal Studies. I’m originally from Dallas, Texas, but Oregon has seriously grown on me — I love it here! There are so many fun things to do around campus and some amazing sights! Some of my favorite things to do are eating good food, going on runs, napping, baking, and reading. I can’t wait to meet all of you and get to know you better! If you ever have questions, want to chat, or need advice (I’ve been told I give pretty good advice), I’m always happy to help! I am also very involved on campus, so if you’re confused on how to go about certain things I will most likely know what direction to lead you in. We already have some great things planned out and are excited to make it a great term!
