Hey everyone! Before coming to class this fall, it would be great if you could complete this simple assignment in order for Carol and I to get an idea of what you are like before we officially get a chance to meet you.

In one paragraph, please introduce yourselves, including your name, pronouns, where you are from, and major (if you don’t know your major, just write about what classes you are interested in taking in college). Then talk about something that you enjoyed doing this past summer, one thing that you are most excited about in college, and what your favorite planet is and why.

In a second paragraph, take a moment to reflect on the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11 which marks the first time that humans set foot on another world. What does this achievement mean to you? Remember that there is no right or wrong answer here, I'm just interested to get your impressions and thoughts on this event.

Finally, add a picture of yourself so we know what you look like :).
