Electronic Nose

This FIG is an exploration of olfaction from biological to artificial, including the electronic. It combines the two classes CH 221 and PSY 201, which are two classes that first year students majoring in a science generally take. The topics talked about in the FIG will combine concepts mentioned in both CH 221 and PSY 201, and you will see how they connect. We have some great academic activities planned for the class as well as social ones. Hope that you love some good food!

FIG Assistant: Connor Yap

Hello! My name is Connor Yap, and I will be your FA this coming fall for the Electronic Nose FIG! I am from sunny Southern California, Irvine to be exact, and I am currently a Junior studying Business Administration here at the University of Oregon. Two of my favorite sports are volleyball and football, and I play a ton of them here at UO. I am also a huge fan of the outdoors and love to hike, camp, and snowboard in the beautiful environment we have here in Oregon. Other than being an FA, I am part of the Honors Business Program, Outdoor Program, and Sigma Nu Fraternity. I hope you’re counting the days till school starts and are excited for our FIG because we will be learning about Electronic Noses as well as tips and tricks that will help you throughout your college career!

Next Steps: Summer Assignment and Information

Summer Assignment: We would like you to google what an electronic nose is and just read over what it is. Also please send me an email at cyap@uoregon.edu including an interesting fact about you and any questions about the class or anything about UO! Other than that, enjoy the sun!

First Meeting: We look forward to our first mandatory meeting, which will take place during the Week of Welcome on Friday, September 25, 2015. We will meet in Straub 156 at 10:00 a.m.
