Face to Face is a course designed to help students improve direct verbal communication skills by understanding elements of various audiences, whether talking to friends, team mates, professors, bosses, co-workers, strangers, class mates, special interest groups or potential employers.

This FIG brings together the study of international relations with the study of the media and its role in society. In this FIG class we especially explore how media, including social media, affects international relations in profound and rapidly changing ways. Students work in groups using social media to work to help international problems.

This FIG explores the influence of comedy in all media on human thought and behavior, including what makes something funny to us, how and why we set boundaries, the types of messages we get while we’re laughing, and how to find the funny in otherwise stressful college experiences.
