The visual arts are about creating and communicating ideas that matter and make a difference in our world. This FIG will explore the tools for making art in contemporary times and matching those with messages, which explain human situation and how we can see it more clearly. This FIG will explore environmental aspects that can help us visualize a better world.

Once upon a time, France was Roman Gaul! This FIG will guide you to think thematically across disciplines to discover how the foundational works of the Humanities and France's cultural legacies relate to one another.

The two lecture courses in this FIG offer disciplinary introductions to literature and history and ask basic questions about social, political and technological change. They converge in an exploration of Napoleon’s invasion of Russia.
