Justice Matters will critically engage the variety of philosophies that have most significantly shaped the political history of Western civilization and creatively explore how they inform U.S. politics and government.

How can you make a difference when a humanitarian crisis emerges somewhere across the globe? This FIG will show you how to combine mapping and website development to tell stories about humanitarian crises and to share your story with the world.

Storytelling is a universal human trait that originates deep in our evolutionary past. Indeed, humans have been described as the storytelling animal. What role does this behavior play in human groups? We will explore this question by comparing two very different storytelling traditions: hunter-gatherer oral tradition and the Icelandic sagas. In so doing, we will look at culture-specific themes and practices, and topics and techniques that are common across human cultures.
