Featured FIGs: Chemistry in Nature, Chemistry of Climate Change, Science for Social Change

These three featured FIGS are part of the broader FIG offerings for fall of 2017. To see the full list please visit the Finding the FIG For You page. FIGs featured today are all chemistry FIGs!

Note: Chemistry FIGs will not be available to sign up for online on May 15. You will be able to sign up for a chemistry FIG at your IntroDUCKtion session.

This FIG will explore how chemistry pervades the natural world including biology, geology, and the broader environment.

Climate change: we’ve all heard of it, but what is it, why is it happening and what are the implications for life on Earth? In this FIG we will examine these questions from a scientific perspective and explore what we can do to slow the process of climate change.

As a student enrolled in this FIG, you will develop an appreciation for how green chemistry principles can be used to address real world problems, particularly the relationships between the environment and society, to create safer, healthier communities.
